About Auburn

Because auburn sits at a medium-dark level, it can be applied to dark brown hair with a slight lift or color alone, which is gentler on the hair than copper. Red pigments still fade quickly, though. A color-safe shampoo, cool water and an occasional color-refreshing mask keep it vibrant.

It looks very natural on warm and neutral undertones and makes green and hazel eyes pop. On long curls and layered cuts, the depth of the color becomes visible, and on dense textures like locs and afros it looks warm and rich.

Does auburn work on a beard?

Beards can grow in a different shade, so auburn usually looks warmer on a beard. In Mane, you can see it together with the apply-to-beard option.

How do I keep auburn hair from fading?

A color-safe, sulfate-free shampoo, washing with cool or lukewarm water and protecting your hair from the sun slow fading. A color-refreshing mask every few weeks helps too.
