Burgundy can be applied to dark brown hair directly or with a light lift. The violet undertone keeps the red from turning orange and makes the shade look cooler and more sophisticated. Red pigments fade quickly, so color-protecting care and a refresh every few weeks are needed.

What’s the difference between burgundy and auburn?

Can burgundy be done on dark hair without bleach?
On most dark brown hair, a light lift or color alone is enough. On very dark hair, the color shows mostly in the light. Your colorist will choose the right method.
