About Turquoise
For a vivid turquoise, the hair needs to be lifted to a light level. Blue-green pigment holds well even on a slightly yellow base, so it’s more forgiving than ice blue. It’s semi-permanent, so it fades within a few weeks, usually into a lighter mint tone.
It looks very vivid on cool and neutral undertones and creates striking contrast on deeper skin. With bold cuts like a side shave, mullet or wolf cut it looks punk, and with long waves it gives off mermaid vibes. Applying it to the ends or an underlayer can be a more controlled start.
What’s the difference between turquoise and emerald green?
Turquoise leans blue, emerald leans green. Turquoise looks fresher, emerald deeper. You can try both on the same photo.
Can I put turquoise on just the ends?
Yes. Ends or an underlayer reduce the lightening needed and make it easier to go back. Mane applies the color to all your hair; once you’ve seen the result, you can discuss placement with your colorist.
